Sundowns and ES Tunis reach Mundial de Clubes FIFA 2025

South African club Mamelodi Sundowns and Tunisian club ES Tunis have secured their spots at the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup in the United States, becoming the third and fourth teams from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to do so.

With Egypt’s Al Ahly already in the CAF Champions League final, both Sundowns and ES Tunis have guaranteed their places in the FIFA Club World Cup via the ranking pathway.

The tournament, set to take place in June and July 2025, will see 32 teams from across the globe competing for the title of world champions.

Al Ahly, having won previous editions of the CAF Champions League, had already secured one spot, while Wydad claimed another. ES Tunis still has the chance to qualify as continental champions if they win the CAF Champions League final against Al Ahly.

If Al Ahly wins the final, both Mamelodi Sundowns and ES Tunis will join them in the FIFA Club World Cup via the ranking pathway, due to their performances in the CAF Champions League over the past four seasons.
