Video viral captured the unsettling moment around 1:30 a.m. local time when the 1.6-mile-long bridge succumbed to the impact, following a collision with the Singapore-flagged Dali ship, which struck one of the bridge’s pillars.

Numerous vehicles, including one resembling a tractor-trailer, were traversing the bridge when the incident occurred.

Baltimore Police briefed reporters, highlighting the ongoing frantic search for at least seven individuals feared missing in the water. Despite hours passing since the catastrophe, only two people have been retrieved from the water, with one currently battling for survival in a hospital.
