Body Found in Prague River During Search for Missing Scot Joop Sparkes

The search for missing Scottish tourist Joop Sparkes has taken a tragic turn as a man’s body was discovered in a river in Prague.

Joop Sparkes, a 29-year-old construction worker from Galashiels, went missing after reportedly leaping from a party boat into the Vltava River between 1am and 2am on Sunday, April 27.

The body was recovered around 7pm on Sunday, May 5, in the vicinity where Joop was last spotted. Local reports from Prague indicate that a witness observed the body near the Štefánik bridge.

Authorities have informed Joop’s family of the discovery, bringing an end to the agonizing search for their loved one.
